Donate To The Music Heals Therapy Program

January 21, 2019

This year, we’re excited to partner with the University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital to raise funds for the Music Heals Therapy Program – an innovative healing program that uses music to decrease anxiety and pain, and provides procedural and emotional support to patients and parents throughout some of the most troubling times of their lives.

Through your support and Stars & Guitars fundraising efforts, we hope to help the Masonic Children’s Hospital get closer to their goal of raising $260,000 to support the addition of more than 1,000 music therapy sessions annually.

Help us give the gift of music by donating to the Stars & Guitars Music Heals Therapy Program fundraiser today!

$100 will support the "Music Therapy Heals" weekly TV Show in our newly opened Zucker Family Suite and Broadcast Studio to be broadcast to the entire University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital for two weeks to engage children in using music to help them cope with their hospital stay.

$250 will support approximately ten patients receiving individual music therapy sessions to write the lyrics to their own "fight song" describing their emotions and hopes of their healing journey.

$500 will provide a group healing drumming circle where up to ten kids and their family members can play various drums and percussion instruments to create healing rhythms based in African culture and traditions.

$1000 will provide approximately 30 collaborative sessions with music therapy and the rehab department to help kids reach physical goals, such as getting out of bed after surgery or learning to walk again.

$2500 will help 80 kids who are undergoing care in the hospital for chronic diseases, cancer and transplants to use music to develop their own coping strategies when it comes to the intense pain and discomfort they will endure.

$5000 will support 100 kids with individual music therapy sessions, 30 collaborative sessions with the rehab department, two drumming circles, and 5 weekly "Music Therapy Heals" TV Shows.
