The Hockey Hall Of Fame Wants Player To Stop With The Keg Stands

September 7, 2018

The Washington Capitals have been making the most out of their Stanley Cup victory.

Soon after they won, Capitals Captain, Alex Ovechkin was filmed doing a keg stand inside of Lord Stanley’s Cup, with teammates Tom Wilson and Brooks Orpik soon to follow.

Even Jimmy Fallon is getting in on the fun…

While there currently are no rules banning keg stands with the cup, the Hockey Hall of Fame has asked players to stop.

“We ask them politely not to do it,” Hall of Fame vice president Philip Pritchard said. “We’re trying to preserve the history of the Stanley Cup. We don’t want any unnecessary damage to it or a person, in case they drop the person or he presses too hard or something.”
