A Dispute Over Country Music Starts An Inmate Fight

October 16, 2018

According to WISN, Dustin Hampton, 33, was charged with battery by prisoners for hitting another inmate that wouldn’t stop singing country music. The criminal complaint says, jail staff members broke up a fight Monday between Hampton and another inmate.

Hampton said he was annoyed with the other man, who was walking around the day room singing country songs. When Hampton asked him to stop singing, he refused, the complaint says. After watching surveillance video, the staffers saw Hampton walk up to the other inmate while he was eating and push him with both hands. The other man fell off the chair he was sitting on and hit his head against a chair, the complaint says.
