Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood Have Lots of Love for Lizzo

The Country icon shares the surprising find from his music library

November 21, 2019

Not sure if you’ve heard, but Lizzo is kinda having a moment.

The “Truth Hurts” singer leads all other artists with eight GRAMMY nominations, including a nod in each of the four biggest categories. Her unapologetic brand of self-love has been one of the brightest spots in all of 2019, and new fans, or Lizzbians, are coming out every day.

The latest confirmed Lizzo lover is Entertainer of the Year Garth Brooks. The Country icon stopped by The Talk on Wednesday and revealed that Cuz I Love You has a special spot in his home with wife Trisha Yearwood.

“Lizzo is all over the house right now,” Garth says as the table of hosts cheer. “I am banished. I can’t sing, I can’t dance, so my wife goes ‘don’t even try.’”

Well, he can sing, just not maybe at “Good as Hell” levels. Although, now that’s the only thing we want to see and we are willing to pay good money for it. Anyway, it appears Yearwood is the real fan, and Garth like the loving husband he is, is along for the ride.

“She played the Ryman in Nashville and my wife was like a 5-year-old kid,” he smiles. “She went and had the greatest time, came home with Lizzo shirts and it’s everywhere.”

Next up for Garth Brooks is two shows for his Dive Bar Tour in one day, pulling double duty on Monday December 2. They don’t call him Entertainer of the Year for nothing.
